Westbury, NY · Three generations

Family-run, Long Island-rooted, on call since 1983.

Safeway Systems was started in a Westbury garage by a master electrician who got tired of watching his neighbors get sold systems they didn't need. Forty-plus years later, the same family still answers the phone.

Our story

From a Westbury garage to every town on the Island.

In 1983, a Long Island electrician noticed that the alarm companies pulling permits in Nassau County were all out-of-state outfits running cookie-cutter installs and locking homeowners into five-year contracts. He thought neighbors deserved better — and started Safeway Systems out of his garage in Westbury with one truck and a hand-drawn estimate book.

Four decades later, that same family still runs the company. The systems have gotten smarter — wireless sensors, 4K AI cameras, smart-home integration, encrypted dual-path communication. The values haven't. Every install still starts with a free in-person walk-through. Every quote is still fixed in writing. The owner still answers the phone.

We're proudly NY-licensed (#12000041632), fully insured, and based on Post Avenue in Westbury — a few miles from where we started. From the Queens border to Montauk Point, from oceanfront estates in the Hamptons to canal-side ranches in Massapequa, we install and service the systems we sell. No call centers. No subcontractors. No surprises.

What we stand for

Four rules we've never broken.

The owner installs your system

The person designing your walk-through is the person on the truck on install day — and the person who picks up when you call five years from now.

We service what we sell

Every panel, sensor, and camera we install is supported by us — not a 1-800 number routed to a different state.

Honest pricing in writing

Flat written quotes. No day-of upsells, no hidden monitoring lock-ins, no commission-driven add-ons.

Month-to-month monitoring

No 36-month contracts. If we don't earn your business every 30 days, you're free to leave. In 40+ years, almost no one has.

From Long Island homeowners

The reviews don't change much in 40 years.

Real customers from real Long Island towns — Nassau, Suffolk, and everywhere in between.

"We'd been with a national company for years and never met the same technician twice. The Safeway guys redesigned our whole system, fished every wire inside the walls, and the owner himself followed up a month later to fine-tune it."

"Storm took out our cell-cellular communicator at 11pm on a Sunday. Called the number, owner answered, had a new one installed by Tuesday morning. Try getting that from ADT."

"Honest people doing honest work. They walked me through what I actually needed, talked me out of two cameras I would've bought just because, and the invoice matched the quote to the penny."

"We own three storefronts in Patchogue. Safeway designed the alarm, cameras, and access control as one system, all on one app. Six years in, zero false dispatches."

"Inherited a 1990s panel when we bought our Westbury house. They modernized everything in a single day, kept the wiring we could reuse, and didn't try to upsell us into a contract."

"Three generations of my family have used Safeway. My dad in Levittown, my brother in Smithtown, and now me. That tells you everything."
