Safeway Systems was started in a Westbury garage by a master electrician who got tired of watching his neighbors get sold systems they didn't need. Forty-plus years later, the same family still answers the phone.

In 1983, a Long Island electrician noticed that the alarm companies pulling permits in Nassau County were all out-of-state outfits running cookie-cutter installs and locking homeowners into five-year contracts. He thought neighbors deserved better — and started Safeway Systems out of his garage in Westbury with one truck and a hand-drawn estimate book.
Four decades later, that same family still runs the company. The systems have gotten smarter — wireless sensors, 4K AI cameras, smart-home integration, encrypted dual-path communication. The values haven't. Every install still starts with a free in-person walk-through. Every quote is still fixed in writing. The owner still answers the phone.
